Mylong, Jack. John Mylong (1892-1975) was a noted German silent film actor during the 1920s who left Germany in 1935 and had a successful career in Hollywood. In 1921 he was the hero of the German Celebrity Pulp Jack Mylong, Der Abenteuerliche Hochstapler #1-30 (1921-1922).
Jack Mylong portrayed Mylong as a do-gooding gentleman adventurer with several similarities to Arsène Lupin. Mylong fights a possibly supernatural Chinese Yellow Peril, a vampire, various Lupins with names like the Cat’s Claw and the Red Rabbit, and angry Shiites.
Mylong appears in stories with titles like “The Night of a Thousand Souls,” “The Satan Face,” and “Roxane’s Ring.”
