Moran, Charlie. Charlie Moran was created by Tom Stirling and appeared in seven stories and serials in Triumph from 1931 to 1937, beginning with “The One-Hour Hercules” (Triumph, Nov 14, 1931).
Charlie Moran is the high-spirited, mischievous, misbehaving schoolboy son of Professor Moran. The Professor is an inventor of SCIENCE! First he invents a ray which gives those subjected to it the strength of ten men for one hour exactly. He subjects Charlie to this, and Charlie uses his new powers for pranks and to pay back a headmaster he dislikes. The Professor comes up with other inventions, such as an invisibility ray, and Charlie uses his various (temporary) superpowers for more mischief and then to fight crime.
