Moab. Moab was created by the Mexican creator Alfonso Tirado (El Alacran, Frankenstein, Huapactzin, Moctezuma, Dick Morgan, Oceyolotl, Phantom Thief (II), Pirate Queen (III), Karl Rice) and appeared in the comic strip “El León del Desierto” (Pepín, Aug. 4, 1938-Jan 12, 1939).
Moab, the “Lion of the Desert,” is a Bedouin warrior who during the first World War is an ally of the French Foreign Legion and protects merchant caravans traveling through the desert. He gets on the bad side of local bandit chief Ben Ali, who also kidnaps beautiful Frenchwoman Nora. Moab saves Nora and kills Ben Ali.
