Miller, Doc. Doc Miller was created by Herman Petersen (Barbe Pivet) and appeared in Murder in the Making (1940), Murder R.F.D. (1942), and Old Bones (1943).

Doc Miller is a g.p. in the rural town of Pine Wood somewhere in the United States. He is “a paunchy man with heavy shoulders, thin gray hair and a thin gray Van Dyke” who is given to “growling and grunting” at the minor and major annoyances of life. He’s rather a grumpy man, really, but no dummy, and when murder is committed in his quiet little town he does his intelligent best to solve it. He is assisted by Paul Burns, a D.A., and Ben Wayne, a farmer in Pine Wood.
