McAllister. McAllister was created by Arthur Cheney Train (Bennie Hooker, Ephraim Tutt) and appeared in seven stories which were collected in McAllister and His Double (1905).

“Chubby” McAllister is an average, wealthy club man whose life is quite uninteresting—until the fates makes his life very interesting. It turns out that McAllister is not only the spitting image of his former valet Wilkins, but that Wilkins is better known as the notorious, if unlucky, criminal “Fatty Welch.” McAllister is often mistaken for Fatty Welch and is imprisoned or suspected of crimes, forcing McAllister to do the difficult and think his way out of his dilemmas.
