Martin, Wildcat. Wildcat Martin was created by Laurence Donovan (Joe Bunt, Pa Howdy, Boxcar Reilly) and appeared in a number of stories in Exciting Detective, beginning with “The Navy Yard Murders” (Exciting Detective, Fall 1942).

Frederick Funston “Wildcat” Martin is a 5'0" former sailor who has joined Naval Intelligence and goes undercover to solve crimes and catch spies. “Cat Martin was a loftsman. He was one of those veritable human flies who, perched precariously on skeletonized building ways, assemble the outer structure of ships.”
