Manatee, Malachi. Malachi Manatee was created by William R. Cox (Duke Bagley, The Bat (IV), Captain Satan, Tom Kincaid, Patrolman Murphy, Phil Towne, Dan Trout, John Wade) and appeared in nine stories in Dime Detective Magazine from 1944 to 1946, beginning with “Malachi Comes Home” (Dime Detective Magazine, Aug. 1944).

Malachi Manatee is a Disabled Detective. A maimed veteran, Manatee returns from the war and opens his own private detective agency in Florida.
