Maenden. Maenden was created by the Japanese author Murayama Kaita (Magic Boy) and appeared in the story serial “Maenden” (Bukyō Sekai, 1915).

Maenden is a superpowered monkey who re-enacts the murders of Edgar Allan Poe’s “Murders in the Rue Morgue,” except in Tokyo in 1915 rather than in Paris in the 19^th century.
