Macklin, Professor Armand. Professor Armand Macklin was created by Ralph W. Wilkins and appeared in three stories in Scientific Detective Monthly, beginning with "The Campus Murder Mystery" (Scientific Detective Monthly, Jan. 1930).
Professor Armand Macklin is a Scientific Detective. He is a professor of "Police Practice and Crime Investigation" at Roger Williams College, and "holds the first chair of its kind ever established in America." Macklin is scientifically knowledgeable, knows his way around a laboratory, and defeats all his enemies, even though they throw scientifictional weapons at him--sonic projectors, untraceable new poisons, giant tubes of liquid oxygen, and the like. Macklin's adventures are narrated by Sabre, his secretary.
