Luvium. Luvium was created by A.R. McKenzie (Juggernaut Jones) and appeared in three stories in Amazing Stories from 1931 to 1943, beginning with “Luvium” (Amazing Stories, Nov. 1931).

Luvium is a subterranean Lost Race city, created before the first Ice Age. It is located in the Sahara Desert, is technologically advanced, and is ruled by an evil tyrant. When American explorers discover it, bad things happen to the Americans. In the sequels the surviving American explorer, Wright, returns to Luvium and triumphs over the tyrant, and then Nazis take power in Luvium.
