Lord, Michael. Michael Lord was created by C. Daly King (Trevis Tarrant) and appeared in five novels from 1934 to 1940, beginning with Obelists en Route.
Michael Lord is a “Special Officer attached to the staff of the Commissioner of Police of the City of New York,” and in that capacity confronts a set of usually complicated and tricky cases, including one in which a doctor is told the exact time and date at which he will be killed, and then is murdered at that time, which happens to be on board a trans-Atlantic flight. Lord is assisted by Dr. Love Rees Pons, a psychologist.
