Lonergan, Rex. Rex Lonergan was created by John K. Butler (Rod Case, Tricky Enright, Steve Midnight) and appeared in nine stories in Dime Detective from 1935 to 1937, beginning with “Murder Alley” (Dime Detective, April 1, 1935).

Rex Lonergan is a cynical, hard-boiled Detective Lieutenant with the San Francisco Police Department. He uses disguises, such as one of a homeless man, to deal with Chinatown and the Yellow Perils therein.
