Lelka. Lelka was created by the Russian author B. Lavrenev and appeared in the novel Oshibka Vasilia Guliavina (1925) and then in the film Veter (1926).

Lelka is an atamanka, a female Cossack leader, during the Russian Civil War. She is beautiful, vivacious, and thoroughly wicked: she is possessed of a vicious temper and enjoys killing, especially captured White Russians. She is eventually defeated by heroic Soviets led by Vasilia Guliavina, a cavalry regiment commander.
