Lecain, Inspector. Inspector Lecain was created by the French author Francis Didelot (Samson Clairval) and appeared in Murder in the Bath (1933) and L’Assassin du Député (1934).
Dominique Lecain is an Inspector for the Criminal Investigation Department of Police Headquarters in Paris. He is “posed, quiet, thoughtful. He spoke seldom and then briefly...he followed his clues slowly, working like an ox, piling up proof upon proof. Tall, slender, gawky even, and still very young...everything about the man bespoke his indomitable energy.” He assists the brilliant, portly Commissioner Santelli on various high-profile cases.
