Le Queux, William. William Le Queux was created by William Le Queux (Raoul Becq, Villiers Beethom-Saunders, Robert Bleke, Delmasso & Bray, Count Bindo di Ferraris, Theodore Drost, John Durston, Beryl Gaselee, Claud Heathwaite, Allan Maclean, Antoine Martin, Harry Nettlefield, Gerry Sant) and appeared in twelve stories which were collected in In Secret (1920).
The fictional William Le Queux is the character the real William Le Queux wanted to be: an important man, known and revered in the fashionable spots of Europe, the intimate of the political and espionage elite, an uncoverer of spies and plots and apprehender of brilliant criminals who aren’t as brilliant as Le Queux.
