Larry, Mac. Mac Larry was created by “H.C. Granch,” the pseudonym of the Spanish author Enrique Cuenca Granch, and appeared in Mac Larry #1-35 (1944-1946) and Hazañas de Mac Larry #1 (1949).
In the American West, in the 1920s, Mac Larry is a cowboy who goes to work for whichever ranchman is hiring. However, whichever ranch Mac Larry is working on inevitably is involved in a mystery involving theft and/or murder, forcing Mac Larry to solve the crime and apprehend or kill the criminals. Sometimes the crimes lead Mac Larry as far away as Al Capone’s Chicago. Mac Larry is assisted by Bat Valentino and Smoke Bullets. Later in the series Larry marries.
