Lang, Rowdy. Rowdy Lang was created by James P. Webb (Blacky Solone) and appeared in fourteen stories in Wild West Weekly from 1940 to 1943, beginning with “Spawn of the Owlhoot” (Wild West Weekly, Apr. 27, 1940).

Rowdy Lang is a Wanted Man. He is an outlaw on the western frontier of the United States in the years after the Civil War. He hates killers and never robs anyone, but there is a $10,000 reward for his capture, and sometimes he is forced to kill in self-defense. He is tall, lean, muscular and laconic, carries a Colt and a .38 in a shoulder holster, and has one notable idiosyncrasy: he always wears a glove on his left hand and always keeps his right hand bare.
