Kirby, Cameo. Cameo Kirby was created by Earl W. Scott (Phil Craleigh, Hammerlock Wilson) and appeared in six stories in Black Mask from 1929 to 1931, beginning with “Cameo Kirby Takes His Cue” (Black Mask, June 1929).

Cameo Kirby used to be a jewel thief, and a good one, but he has seen the error of his ways and is now reformed and uses his skills to solve crimes and help people. Among the criminals he takes on is Wah Foo Wah, a Yellow Peril murderer.
