Kinsella, Socks. Socks Kinsella was created by Paul L. Anderson and appeared in seven stories in Ace-High Magazine in 1926 and 1927, beginning with “Princes of the Padded Arena” (Ace-High Magazine, Dec 1, 1926).

Eddie “Socks” Kinsella is a welterweight boxer, and on his way up the ranks, to the championship match, he meets and defeats all manner of bad men, from brutal boxers to corrupt newspapermen to gangsters who want to rig matches. Kinsella is assisted by his “negro” friend Eddie, his trainer Joe Scarpone, and his fiancee Mary Pellegrino.
