Kinnison, Kimball. Kimball Kinnison was created by E.E. “Doc” Smith (“Storm” Cloud, Richard Seaton) and appeared in four story serials and six novels and story collections from 1937 to 1954, beginning with “Galactic Patrol” (Astounding Stories, Sept. 1937).

Kimball Kinnison is a human member of the “Galactic Patrol,” a crack military and police force which has been created by the Arisians, a group of super-powerful aliens, to combat the schemes and plots of the evil alien Eddorians. Each member of the Galactic Patrol is given a “lens” which allows him or her or it to use a wide range of superhuman abilities. Those bearing the lens are known as “Lensmen.”
