Kinko. Kinko appeared in a story serial in The Ranger in the fall of 1931.

Kinko is the leader of the Bala, a band of great apes in the Congo. Among his band are Olak, Bolok, Dobo, and Choto, who are the chief hunters for the tribe. Kinko, who is intelligent and can speak, albeit with a limited vocabulary, assigns roles to each ape, whether hunter or warrior. With the help of Bob Carter, a British lad, Kinko fights various evil white and black men and enemy tribes of gorillas. Kinko is strong, even for a gorilla, and uses a giant club.
