King, Master. Master King appeared in the German dime novel Master King, der Gentleman-Detektiv #1-25 (1923).

Master King is a Great Detective modeled on Sexton Blake. King’s cases take him to the largest cities of Europe, including Dublin, London, and Zurich. The criminals King pursues and apprehends are as varied as Blake’s Rogues Gallery: Professor Blythe, the Crime Genius (King’s Moriarty and a recurring villain for King), The Murder Clan, the Satan of London, pirates on the North Sea, Brill Brillon, the boss of the underworld, and a gang of Thugs, among others.

Master King appears in stories with titles like “The Committee at the Eleventh Hour,” “Suicide or Murder?,” and “In London’s Underground.”
