King Carlos I. King Carlos I of Spain (1500-1558) was better known as Holy Roman Emperor Charles V and ruler of an empire “in which the sun does not set.” He appeared as the hero of the Spanish dime novel Carlos de España #1-16 (1936?).

The fictional Carlos I is portrayed as more of a traditional action-adventure hero than the historical Carlos would have been allowed to be.
