Kimo. Kimo was created by Jean Francis Webb (The Bat (III), Grace Culver) and appeared in “Flames Over Eden” (Thrilling Detective, Aug. 1940) and “Finger of Guilt” (Thrilling Detective, May 1941).
Kimo, or "Jim,” is a native Hawaiian who works at various odd jobs on the beaches and helps tourists. However, when crime presents itself, he goes into action, usually helping Lt. Steve Mitchell of the Honolulu Police Department. Kimo is lean, bronze, and muscular. He can swim like a dolphin and has a “wide, sensitively chiseled mouth” and a "steel-muscled, panther-like body, strong copper arms, and...acute hearing."
