Khaki Boys. The Khaki Boys were created by “Captain Gordon Bates,” the pseudonym of Josephine Chase (Adventure Boys), and appeared in the six-book “Khaki Boys” series, beginning with The Khaki Boys at Camp Sterling (1918) and concluding with The Khaki Boys Along the Rhine (1920).
Four American teenagers–Jimmy Blaise, a wealthy college boy, Roger Barlow, a factory worker, Bob Dalton, a newspaper reporter, and Ignace Pulinski, a Polish worker–enlist in the U.S. Army and fight the Germans during World War One.
