Keene, Russell. Russell Keene appeared in at least two stories in The Vanguard Library in 1909, beginning with "Russell Keene for the Empire" (The Vanguard Library, Sept. 28, 1909).  

Randall Keene is a Great Detective modeled on Sexton Blake. However, Keene is a patriot, and his adventures tend to be less crime-solving and more Empire-building. In one adventure he is active in Somaliland.

Keene appears in stories with titles like "Russell Keene for the Empire" and "Russell Keene in Somaliland."
