Julio & Ricardo. Julio & Ricardo were created by the Spanish author Edmundo Marculeta (Barton Thunder) and appeared in Julio y Ricardo #1-32 (1942-1944).
Julio & Ricardo are a pair of Spanish teenagers who have a series of adventures in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. They fly their plane, they fight angry natives or corrupt white men, they save the girl, they get the treasure, and they move on. They appear in stories with titles like “The Treasure of Opar,” “The Sphinx of the Antarctic,” and “In the Temple of Kali.”
