Jordan, Dan. Dan Jordan was created by Harlan Reed and appeared in The Case of the Crawling Cockroach (1937) and Swing Music Murder (1938).

Dan Jordan is a Bellem. He is based in Seattle, but is widely traveled, and has done some consulting work in Shanghai. He is a habitué of speakeasies and jazz clubs. He has an unusual sense of humor about himself as well as the policemen and businessmen he deals with. A typical comment by Jordan, regarding one of the alcohols he drinks, is “It’s good for that early morning, burnt-mattress taste.”
