Jones, Cal. Cal Jones was created by Don Blaine and appeared in “Two Hundred Bulls and Lulu” (Lariat Story Magazine, Jan. 1926) and “Celebratin’ Fools” (Lariat Story Magazine, Aug. 1926).
Cal Jones is a Tall Tale Teller. He is the boss of the Big-Bottom-B Ranch, and he likes to smoke his corncob pipe, smooth out his long white mustache, and tell stories that, possibly, just maybe, might not be entirely accurate.
