Jones, Jupiter (I). Jupiter Jones (I) was created by Timothy Fuller and appeared in six novels and novellas from 1936 to 1950, beginning with Harvard has a Homicide.

Edmund "Jupiter" Jones is an eccentric graduate student in the fine arts at Harvard who wins a valet in a craps game. Then, when Jones’ adviser, Professor Singer, is murdered, and the police can't seem to find the killer, Jones takes it upon himself to solve the case. He goes on to solve a number of Boston-area crimes and eventually become a professor in the town of Saxon. He is Watsoned by his African-American valet Sylvester.
