Jim of the Jungle. Jim of the Jungle was created by T.C. Bridges and appeared in a number of stories in Chums in 1914, beginning with “The Wild Man of Muti” (Chums, Apr 11, 1914).
Jim Logan is an orphan who has been a “horse boy” at a circus since he was a child. When he is a young man, he is discovered by Bart Bryson, “the wild animal collector,” and hired by Bryson to be his assistant. Naturally, this entails a variety of jungle adventures with Jim as a Jungle Hero, from fighting hostile natives to capturing rare and dangerous animals, like the “wild man of Muti,” the rarest orang-utang in the world.
