Jacks, Wilton. Wilton Jacks was created by J.H. Wallis and appeared in six novels from 1931 to 1934, beginning with Murder by Formula.

Wilton Jacks is an Inspector with the Homicide Squad in Manhattan. Jacks is thirty-five (but looks twenty-five), blue-eyed, blond, with a “smooth pink face and a very boyish smile.” He is a “brave and subtle officer” and is “celebrated for the solution of several difficult murder-mysteries and for the apprehension of some of the most daring and ruthless killers in Manhattan’s history.”
