Ix, Robby. Robby Ix was created by the German author Paul Hain (Hitler Youth (I), Robby King, Harold Lloyd, Lee Parry) and appeared in Robby Ix #1-48 (1935-1936).

Robby Ix is a Great Detective. He lives and works in Berlin, and is assisted by the teenaged Friedo Wimmer. He fights the Springheeled Jack-like “Man with the Rubber Legs,” the death-ray-wielding Yellow Peril Mad Scientist Li-tang-ho, and what appears to be a Black Forest kobold.

Ix appears in stories with titles like “Attention–Spy!” “A Scandal in Savoy,” and “John Patrick’s Last Blow.”

* I'm including Robby Ix in the Best of the Encyclopedia category because of the ideasplosions. There weren't as many as in heftromane like the Harald Harst stories--but then, few could match those. However, there were still enough ideasplosions, like the Man with the Rubber Legs and Li-tang-ho, to make Robby Ix worth searching out. Paul Hain knew how to entertain.
