Irons, Sudden John. Sudden John Irons was created by Dee Linford and appeared in nine stories in Star Western from 1941 to 1946, beginning with “Murder Builds a Boom-Camp” (Star Western, Feb. 1941).

Sudden John Irons is a range detective on the western frontier in the years after the American Civil War. He’s known for his sudden appearances, riding into bad situations to save the heroes at the last moment.
