Ihsan, Kartal. Kartal Ihsan was created by the Turkish author Peyami Safa (Imdad, Tilki Leman, Necati, Recai, Çekirge Zehra) and appeared in a dime novel series and at least two novels from 1925 to at least 1938, beginning with Polis Hafiyesi Kartal Ihsanin Maceralari #1-10 (1925).

Kartal Ihsan is a Great Detective. He is as much Turkish as pseudo-British and operates in Istanbul rather than London. In both novels he jousts with Recai. He is Watsoned by his assistant Ibrahim. Kartal Ihsan appears in stories with titles like “Bloody Junkie,” “Six-Fingered Hand,” and “Dead Underground.”
