Houdini, Harry. Harry Houdini (1874-1926) was a world-famous magician and escape artist.

In 1908 he was the hero of the German Celebrity Pulp story "Auf den Spuren Houdinis" (Auf den Geheimakten der Welt-Detekivs, the same pulp Harry Taxon starred in). In the story Houdini is threatened by three rival magicians, the “Handcuff Kings,” who pour sulfuric acid into Houdini’s special milk can. Houdini is rescued by Sherlock Holmes and Harry Taxon.
