Hood, Mortimer. Mortimer Hood appeared in at least thirty stories in Bullseye in 1931, beginning with “The Three Loaves” (Bullseye, Jan. 24, 1931).

Mortimer Hood is a lift of Adam Daunt. A “brilliant scholar, traveler, and scientist who had inherited millions from his famous inventor father,” Hood devotes his life to crime-solving. He gets visions of the future through a crystal ball, and uses those, and his world-wide network of agents, to solve crimes across Great Britain and Europe. He is served by a “gigantic negro” wearing a leopard skin.
