Hogbens. The Hogbens were created by Henry Kuttner (The Baldies, Yusef ben Yakoud, Elak, Gallegher, Michael Leigh, Pete Manx, Tony Quade, Prince Raynor, Doctor Thorkel, Thunder Jim Wade) and appeared in five stories from 1941 to 1949, beginning with “The Old Army Game” (Thrilling Adventures, Nov. 1941).

The Hogbens are Superhumans. The Hogbens–Shaunk, Maw, Paw, Granpa, baby brother, and various uncles–are a group of rural natives in the Ozark mountains. They are mutants with an array of superhuman powers and a dislike for the flatlanders who would intrude on their pastoral existence or discover their secrets.
