Harrison, Steve. Steve Harrison was created by Robert E. Howard (Pike Bearfield, El Borak, Conan, Steve Costigan, De Montour, Breckenridge Elkins, Solomon Kane, Kull, Bran Mak Morn, Turlogh O’Brien, Kirby O'Donnell) and appeared in three short stories in Strange Detective Stories and Super-Detective in 1934, beginning with “Fangs of Gold” (Strange Detective Stories, Feb. 1934).
Steve Harrison is a police detective in an unidentified port city. Harrison is a two-fisted, muscular brawler–which is a good thing, because his life is rarely peaceful. His usual patrol is along River Street, where Tong wars are a regular occurrence. Beneath the city, in an underground lair, Erlik Khan, Lord of the Dead and last emperor of the Mongols, schemes to CONQUER THE WORLD!. And when Harrison visits Texas he discovers the quite unpleasant Graveyard Rats.
