Hardy, Kutt. Kutt Hardy was created by the pseudonymous Italian author "Herbert Bennet" and appeared in nine stories, which were collected in Il Rivale di Sherlock Holmes (1907).
Kutt Hardy is a Great Detective. Like the rest of the Great Detectives, Hardy is modeled on Sherlock Holmes, but Hardy is a more arrogantly conceived Holmes lift than was normal. Hardy is an Italian investigator in the Holmes mode, but Hardy is boastful and vainglorious, believing that he is a superior detective to Holmes and has a more logical method of crime solving than Holmes. Hardy even dismisses Holmes as someone who "talks too much and deduces too little."
