Hammar, Fridolf. Fridolf Hammar was created by "Prins Pierre," the pseudonym of the Swedish author Johan Frederik Lindholm, and appeared in Stockholmsdetektiven (1893).
Fridolf Hammar was the first Swedish detective, and Stockholmsdetektiven was the first detective novel written by a Swedish writer featuring a Swedish protagonist. Fridolf Hammar is a policeman in Stockholm in 1890. Acting on behalf of Police Commissioner S, Hammar solves crimes involving prostitution, drug abuse, and white-collar crime in Stockholm and Eskilstuna.
