Digby Grant is a Great Detective modeled on Sexton Blake. Digby Grant used to be a Detective Inspector with the Hurley Street C.I.D., where he captured more crooks than any other policeman. Then he moved on to Scotland Yard, retaining his rank. He is a young, athletic man known to his friends as “Digger.” He is assisted by Sam Smart, the freckled son of murdered policeman Tom Smart, and by Digger, Grant’s bloodhound.
