Goulburn, Richard. Richard Goulburn was created by J.S. Fletcher (Turco Bullworthy, Ronald Camberwell, Paul Campenhaye, Sergeant Charlesworth, Archer Dawe, Inspector Skarratt) and appeared in The Mantle of Ishmael (1909) and The Million-Dollar Diamond (1923).

Richard Goulburn is a working-class clerk for an English law firm when he is surprised by the news that his American uncle (whose existence Goulburn was unaware of) has died, leaving Goulburn and his sister a fortune. With the fortune Goulburn is able to woo a woman he is interested in, but the woman’s uncle turns out to be a modern-day pirate, and Goulburn is pitched into a series of adventures.
