Gilmore, Freck. Freck Gilmore was created by Claude Rister (Sheriff Mullett) and appeared in a number of stories in The Lone Ranger Magazine in 1937, beginning with “Dust Devils” (The Lone Ranger Magazine, May 1937).
Freck Gilmore is a wandering cowpuncher. He is only seventeen and is forced to wander from necessity, as the ranch he was raised on is sold and he is turned loose. He avenges his father’s murder and becomes a ranch foreman. He is an expert with rope and gun and is a fine rider.
