Giglamps. Giglamps was created by Will Scott (Lindy Browne, Disher, Jeremiah Jones, Dr. Kent) and appeared in thirteen stories in Pan in 1922 and 1923, beginning with “Giglamps” (Pan, July 1922); the stories were collected in Giglamps (1924).

Giglamps describes himself as a “philosophic tramp.” He is a whimsical and cheerful wanderer who tramps around Essex while wearing a pince-nez. He lets his feet lead him where he goes, rather than choosing a destination. He is kindly, but is good with his fists, and uses them, and his brains, to help others and to solve and prevent crime.
