Galante, Trigger. Trigger Galante was created by Francis Duncan (Mordecai Tremaine) and appeared in a number of stories in Detective Weekly in 1937 and 1938, beginning with “…the Welcome Inn, at Nine O’Clock” (Detective Weekly, Oct. 23, 1937).
Quentin “Trigger” Galante is an upper-class English adventurer with a thirst for adventure and an “uncanny skill with lethal weapons.” He works as a knight errant, rescuing damsels in distress, preventing the attempted kidnaping of royalty, and destroying foreign conspiracies in England. Galante’s police contact is his old friend Sir Roland Kildare, the Commissioner of Police. Galante is wiry, with “laughing grey eyes.”
