Gaisler, Robert. Robert Gaisler appeared in the Russian dime novel Robert Gaisler, Glava Smertonostsev ili ZhertvaSlepoi Spravedlivosti #1-80 (1912).

Robert Gaisler is a naive young doctor who is persuaded, by a beautiful countess, to perform an autopsy on her sister. The sister is alive, and Gaisler, by performing the “autopsy,” murders her. Gaisler flees and joins a gang of forest workers and thieves known as the “Death Bearers.” He becomes their leader and eventually transforms them into good men.
