Flack, Raoul. Raoul Flack was created by Robert Welles Ritchie (Grant) and appeared in six stories in The Popular Magazine in 1916 and 1917, beginning with “Stalemate” (The Popular Magazine, Nov. 7 1916).

Raoul Flack is a "French criminal who escapes from the lime pits of a tropical hell, flies to America and gathers about him a band of expert lawbreakers to make war on society." Flack is sardonic and hard-boiled, viewing the killing of detectives as an inconvenience but only that.
