Finch, Jeremiah. Jeremiah Finch was created by Tom Gallon and appeared in six stories in The Blue Book Magazine in 1910, beginning with “Little Mrs. Basnett’s Diamonds” (The Blue Book Magazine, Apr. 1910).
Jeremiah Finch is a Con Man. Jeremiah “Jerry” Finch is a wandering rogue and vagabond who works as “Professor Finch,” a parlor entertainer. He very much wants to get rich quickly through appropriating someone else’s fortune, but he can never quite bring himself to do it through criminal means, and instead ends up solving crimes. His ability at mesmerism, which he also uses as parlor entertainment, helps him solve the crimes.
