El Barbudo, Jaime. Jaime El Barbudo (1783-1824) was a Spanish bandit who became a folk hero after his death. In 1931, Jaime El Barbudo was the hero of Jaime el Barbudo. Vida Anecdotica de Este Popular Bandido #1-8 (1931). Written by the Spanish author Ernesto Perez Donaz (Diego Corrientes, Cortacabezas, Fred (II), José Maria (II), Musketeer of the Sea, Nanuk, Quiquet, Ruggiero, Simbad, Trabucaires), Jaime el Barbudo portrayed el Barbudo as a Gentleman Bandit, albeit in a far more sentimental and ahistorical fashion than the historical el Barbudo.
